Options On Improving Your Driveway

A big improvement to any home when you change the outlook of your driveway. With such a wide variety of driveway options available, it has never had as many variety choices as we do today. With options on block paving your driveway or putting down a tarmac driveway, you can choose design patterns, bordering, pattern inserts and matching steps.

Picking a driveway installer is a major factor when it comes to how your new driveway or patio will look once it’s completed. It does not mean just the quality of the finished work but also the overall design of it. A good driveway installer will give you advice before any work has started and they will highlight potential problems later on that you might encounter if you decide on a certain type of a driveway style.

Tarmac Driveways

Tarmac is typically laid in two layers, the first being the base and the second known as the ‘wearing’ course. The first layer usually has more aggregate and must be brought to the construction site in a heated lorry. After this is poured into the excavation area, the tarmac is spread and leveled using rakes and then the road roller is repeated until it no longer makes indentations in the surface of the tarmac.

Here at Kings Driveways, we provide tarmac driveways as part of our services! Plus, all of our staff are experienced and well-rehearsed in the art of laying tarmac which means that you can be sure to gain the most professional looking driveway around! Block Paving Driveways

Block paving is laid on a new base of river washed sand. Other types of sand are suitable provided they are coarse to allow permeable water to flow through it without dislodging the sand. You set screeded levels on the block paving to set finishing levels and lay the block paving down on the sand. It can be laid in basket weave, stretcher or a herringbone pattern.
